This year’s Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Tour of Industry sold out fast, and it’s easy to see why! It includes a peek inside a fascinating array of local industries and always ends with some kind of treat (last year... chocolate!!!).
We toured 5 different industries including an insider look at suspension systems (think race cars!), beautiful crafted wood marine and home interiors, grip systems and brewery and distillery containers. Lunch (and complimentary view) at the beautiful Church and State Winery with guest speaker John Wilson, President and CEO of Wilson Transportation.
This year's final stop was epic! It involved men and women in Kilts, several “wee drams" to try and many an "och” and “aye lassie" coming my way. I was in my element! Yes - the last stop of our tour was at Victoria Caledonia Distilliary and Twa Dog Brewery. Even though I am not much of a drinker, my Scottish roots run deep and loved this tour. I swear I could hear Dougie MacLean's "Caledonia" playing in the background...
Enjoy a few of the my favourite highlights of the day.
