I know we just had our first beautiful "feels like spring" weekend here in Victoria but I missed it! Well - I was inside in a dark photography studio but it was worth it.
I just returned from an intensive weekend workshop on studio lighting taught by award winning photographer, Len Grinke, MPA. We spent most of our weekend inside his studio working with different lighting techniques ranging from a simple one light set up to more complex five light set ups.
I was a sponge to his teachings and had so many "aha" moments throughout the weekend. I have been wanting to take my lighting skills up a notch for such a long time - especially to create killer headshots; this was just what I needed. Len is an incredibley talented teacher and our comfortably small class size made it perfect. Our model, Nikki, was a dream to work with and we had a lot of fun while we learned.
Here a a few images of "behind the scenes" at his studio and a couple of final shots.
It was a fantastic weekend - although I do plan on spending the next sunny weekend outside enjoying spring...getting "lit" by the sunshine:)
