It is done - my second annual photo session with the Sidney Fire Department!
I really enjoy doing this each year and love the perspective I get from shooting up high, except - did I mention my fear of heights? I am terrified of being up high and always have been. Each time I get up in the "bucket" with all my safety gear (thanks, Graeme!), I take a deep breath, say a little prayer and guide up the machine up to get the best view in the town! Thankfully, I have a great crew on the ground (including 40 first responders) so I know that I am in good hands.
I want to give a big shout out to the Sidney Fire Department for coming together so well for this shoot. These men and women rushed home from their regular day jobs to get to this shoot in time before the sun went down. They all arrived before I asked, dressed in full uniform and a smile on their faces. Even when I was yelling from high above and asking people to move an inch one way or another, no one complained.
I hope you enjoy my final images - I added a few behind the scenes shots ( I had to show off how awesome I look in a yellow helmet!)
